New Things

This year we finally feel like we get to stay put. We aren't moving soon for school or moving because we are finishing school! :-) So we finally feel like we can have animals and work on having the kind of yard and garden that we have always wanted. We all have put in time into our new sprinkling system and in planting a garden. It got started pretty late this year because we had other things that had to be done first. But we got our very first veggie the other day, it was exciting!

After our garden we got working on our animal area. We have done a lot with it but we are just starting to work on a barn/chicken coop building. We got some chickens this spring and have been having fun watching them grow. We are even getting eggs from the bigger ones. The kids love going out and finding them!

We have other animals too. We had 2 bunnies from before, but now we have 2 more. Eric has always wanted some flemish giant rabbits and I found some. So now we have 4 rabbits. They are so cute and we are very happy that they have finally decided that they can get along with each other.

We kept promising the kids that we would get a dog when Eric was out of school. Obviously that couldn't happen last year with us not even knowing where we were going to end up living, but this year we had to make it happen. We have looked for quite a while and Wednesday we found the perfect puppy. He's young enough to learn to get along with the other animals well, and he's calm enough that he won't go bonkers all the time and need attention every minute. His name is buddy.

I don't know why but my blog is not letting me add pictures right now, so I will have to try that tomorrow.

We have to deal with flooding this last week. NOT FUN! We have flooded on two different days and are now just hoping that we have some dry weather so that we can put in a french drain and be done with flooding. This is the pump that is in the backyard.

This was the all day attemp at digging the hole for the pump in the front yard. The sandy sludge just kept falling in the hole.

Someone had to stay on this hole all the time until the pump in the front yard was working. It just kept pouring through that hole.

We talked about Independence Day for family night. We had to have a war first though....incase you were wondering, Sara is helping to fight the Brittish. She was the biggest soldier.

Cutest Kids Ever!

These kids are having to live in a cramped basement for now and they are doing great. It's been hard but they are troopers. Matthew has been the best big brother. He is always trying to help everyone. He really likes being able to help with Sara. Tanner has had his normal moments of honery but he has been trying harder latley to be nice and to help some. Emily keeps things lively and keeps us entertained. She is the cutest little dancer! Yesterday we were driving in the car and she was singing a made-up song about how she loves all of us, she even said she loves everybody. :-) Of course Sara has kept a smile on everyone's face. It is amazing how much she has learned over the last month! She is getting so big! It's been the best thing for everyone when it's been a hard day and then you look at Sara and she gives you the biggest, cheesyest smile...it's hard to feel stressed after that!
We watched fireworks Friday night and the kids had a blast! I couldn't help but remember the fun times in the back of the LaBarron with Lee Greenwood or Mo-Tab blasting and watching the fireworks with my parents. I love this time of year!

It's been forever...

It has been forever since I've posted anything. We are just having way too much fun with our newest addition. Sara is 5 months old already! She keeps us all smiling and laughing!
These days our life is full of packing and cleaning. The kids are all making requests of how they would like the new house to be, so at least they are having fun. The other day when we were packing some things up, Tanner went downstairs and started putting away all the toys, he said it was to help us pack. Then Emily came down and she started putting a bunch of toys in all the little bags she has and then she would bring them to me and tell me, "Look Mom, I'm all packed." It was so adorable! We haven't official put our house up for sale but we have a family that has come to look at it twice. Now they are trying to decide between our home and one they found before they knew that we were selling our home. I would love for this family to have our home, but we shall see. But now we will probably need to find a place for us to rent for a couple of months.
I just made the cutest hat for Sara, and she is sitting in her bouncer with it on and sucking on her binky. It's just about the cutest sight I've ever seen. I'll have to post a picture later.

So it seems like everyone is getting sick lately, and we are no exception. First Emily brought something home from nursery, then just when she was getting better Matthew got sick with something else. He was sick for a week, the whole fever, aches and yucky cough....Then Emily got it and still has it. Tanner lucked out and only had it for like 3 days...but now baby and I are sick!!!!!!! I had her into the doctor because the day she came down with it she started right into the fever and decided to sleep all the time and not want to eat!! It was scary there for a little while but she's o.k. and luckily the fever is gone. Now I'm doing the fever thing and attempting to take care of everyone else. I think Mom's should just be immune from illnesses after they have kids, it's hard to take care of everyone else and be able to get enough rest so that you can actually get better.

Our newest little princess is such a sweet little girl. She's a good eater, a good sleeper and she makes the most adorable little faces. She has just been so easy to work with, and she is of course one of the 4 cutest babies ever!!!!!!!I can't believe that we have been so blessed to have her here now for a week and a half!

Having babies is hard work I think. It's amazing how different every pregnancy is. This one has especially been different, I've really had to work to get her here. This month is no exception. Ever since Friday I've been having bouts of strong contractions and back pain. I know things are just working to get her here, but these are as strong as real ones at times, it's getting kind of tiring. I guess it's just time to vent. I don't want her to come out too early, but I sure hope I don't have too many days left of this.....

The kids and I got to have a hang out day at home today. Emily is either sick or suddenly has bad allergies. It seemed to just come on yesterday, mid-day, and she barely has a voice. I'm sick too and just want to lay in bed, but it could just be part of my third trimester. It has been nice to just relax so far. I think the boys are bored with us girls though, oh well they'll suffer though for a couple more hours until Dad gets home.
My only question is.........do I have to get back to life tomorrow, or do I get another lazy day??????

Weird

Sometimes it seems so strange to have my kids growing up. It was hard when Matthew went to school the first time. I didn't cry my eyes out or anything but I felt like I was letting part of my baby go, that I wouldn't have all the control anymore. Today I experienced that again. Maybe it's just the pregy hormones but Matthew went to his first scout day camp. I'm totally excited for him and I think he'll have a lot of fun, but that's just one more way that he is growing up and doing things without Mom. So strange......
On another note, I think I can't wait until Tanner starts school and can get away from the house. I'm sure it will feel different when I get there, I'm positive it will. But he and Emily are driving me crazy!!!!! They turn just about everything into an argument. Tanner just looks at Emily and she'll scream sometimes. I think some seperation will be very good for these two. I'm just afraid that she'll continue to scream all the time even when he isn't here..............

So how complicated should it really have to be just to get some info on your own son's baptism!!!! I happen to have a calender for my stake so I knew that they were planning on doing baptisms this weekend, otherwise I would still have no idea that my son is suppose to be getting baptised now instead of the end of the month! I finally called the lady in charge on Sat. and she said, oh yeah we have him on the list and I'll send you information in the mail today......I still have nothing and now I can't get a hold of the lady from the stake! This wouldn't be so bad if I actually knew what I was doing and this wasn't my first child to get baptised! So what would you do if you were me, would you start calling and bugging everyone in the Stake primary and the Pres., or just hope that you can get a hold of right lady and find out what you need to get ready before the day of?
Maybe my stress levels wouldn't be quite so high if I didn't have people coming in from out of state for this and if I wasn't trying so hard to lower my stress because we think it might be giving me hives................
....ahhh, thank you for enduring my bit of ranting, I feel a little better now.

We are finally getting to the point that we can see the light. Eric has 3 tests next week and then he is on to his 4th and final year of school. The best thing about the final year is that there is NO MORE TESTS!!!!! He will be doing rotations for different pharmacies and do some "homework" kind of things, and he has one big presentation to give. I am so excited to finally be to this point!

We went in for the ultrasound and had a great time seeing the baby wiggle. But then the baby got tired and decided to curl up and hide. Near the end of the ultrasound when the tech was tring to see important things about the face and to see what gender our baby is the baby curled the toes in tight and had hands up around the face and faced my back..........so we don't know what the gender is. But since she didn't get to see a few other important things that they needed to look at we get another chance. We will go back in about 3 weeks to have another ultrasound and hopefully the baby won't hide then.

I am terrible, I guess I forgot that I had a blog or something. We have been enjoying spring break this week. Eric and Matthew have both been out of school and it's been so nice to have them around. We have found things to do each day around here that has been fun this week. Nothing too exciting just a lot of inexpensive fun. I'm sad that it's almost over, then my husband has to be a student again.
At least it's spring now so here and there we do get to walk in the beautiful weather, then it snows and we at least know that it won't last forever.
Well, Eric tells me I have to be done for now, we'll see if I get back to it later.

I am 10 weeks now and just going into the 11th week and thought this might be fun.

I'm a Fetus!Starting with this week, the baby is now called a fetus. The most critical part of the baby's development is over. This is a period of rapid growth, and the baby is about an inch or so in length at the beginning of the week and will be about 2 inches by the end of the week. The baby's head is about half its length. The eyelids will fuse shut, and the irises will begin to develop. Sometime during this week or the next week, blood will begin to circulate between the baby and uterus and the placenta starts to function.

It seems as though laziness has set in with me ever since the holidays ended. I didn't even take down my Christmas decorations until the 10th!!!! I get on to check other peoples blogs and to check my family's site and facebook, but I'm too lazy to add anything myself!
Eric has started a new semester of school last week and of course he already has a test on like 100 pages of notes tomorrow. So he's back to the busy grind. Matthew is doing really well in school. He has gotten 100% on all but one of his spelling tests and he just progressed into multiplication in math! The 3 of us at home are just trying to get though the day without too many fights over toys! :-)
I'm sitting in my dining room looking outside and it is beautiful! The sky is blue and the sun is shinning so bright, its making me very anxious for Spring. I love the snow and hope we get more, but it's fun to have this pre-spring break from the snowy weather.
Now I just hope the excitement for Spring can get me back in the mood to clean my house!!!!!!

Who would have ever thought that the Bee movie could cause so much troule. Emily was watching the Bee Movie this morning, and I was on the computer in the next room. Most of the way through the movie she came in all upset and told me, "They took Pooh-Bear's honey." She said it over and over. In fact the movie ended 20 minutes ago and she is still saying it. We had to get honey out of our cupboard to show her that Pooh-Bear still had some honey. She wanted Eric to get it out of the cupboard so she could give it to the Pooh-Bear that she carries everywhere. It was one of those sweet, adorable kid moments.

There is a spot in our backyard by the fence were the grass doesn't really grow. The kids one day decided that they wanted to dig a hole there. They have dug there almost every day they go outside and the hole is getting pretty big. Last week they were out there digging again. After a while Matthew came in to tell me exactly what they were doing. They had found 4 worms in thier hole and they decided to take care of them. So they put them into the back of this toy truck that they have and they gave them some dirt because they thought they might like that. :-) Then they gave them "food" (I'm not sure what they thought the food was). Then they took turns triving them in the truck around the yard showing them the bushes and trees and everything. Matthew said that they were going to take care of them and make sure that they were safe. So then I'm thinking o.k. it's been too long since we had a pet, it's time to get them something for a pet again. Then Matthew tells me that they are going to take care of the worms until they go fishing with dad and then they will use those worms to go fishing! Cute huh! Tanner went out the next morning after Matthew left for school so he could check on the worms and he came inide all worried and told me that the worms were gone. I guess they didn't like thier cozy ride in the truck after all.

For the last few months when I have helped Emily get dressed, when she stands so we can pull her pants the rest of the way up we say, "stand up, big and tall". Lately she has been getting herself dressed. Tonight she went into her bedroom to get changed and all of a sudden I hear her say, "stand up, big and tall". She was in there all by herself and it was the most adorable thing!

Land of the crazy people

Sometimes it feels like things are just crazy. Emily has been more tired lately or something. First she wants something and is in a hurry to get it, then she decides she doesn't want it and is crying over it. So then it goes away and one minute later she is upset because she doesn't have it. Then there is Tanner. He runs around all day making silly noises and silly faces. He loves to play with his sister, but gets too excited to sometimes and ends up making her scream or cry because he is teasing her. I love them like crazy, but sometimes I think they are just going to make me end up all crazy! :-)

School Time

Matthew has been in school about 2 weeks now and thinks that second grade is the best ever! He really likes his teacher and he has some friends in there that he has known since kindergarten. It's been pretty easy for him. The only thing he complains about is how tired he gets after running laps every day. Pocatello's school district has a goal of getting the kids active so they are trying to run a certain amount of miles by the end of the year. They did this last year too. They will run more now while it is good weather and then not as often when it is cold and then more again in the spring.
Eric is back in the grind of school. He has his first big test on Thursday and then every other week after that.
Tanner thinks he is in school at home, wish I did more with him on that! He and Emily are both continuing to learn. Emily is almost at the same level as him so that make it easy to work with both at the same time on things.
We finished tiling our kitchen floor and I am finishing up some painting. It is so nice not to see so much icky green in my kitchen!

Time to get serious

We've been off playing again. We went to Utah this last weekend. We played in the mountains for a couple of days then went back to Salt Lake so we could attend the family reunion. The kids had a blast playing in the stream. Emily was walking right through it. She even sat down in it a couple times. She came back once all wet and muddy and seemed to not like it so I went to change her and it turns out she didn't like her stinky diaper. When I put her pants back on she was very proud of getting them all wet!
Now we are back home and we have to get serious. We need to finish tiling our kitchen floor and putting bead board on the wall. Matthew starts school on Thursday so we have to get all his stuff together. Then Eric starts on Monday. Back to the grind!

There's no place like HOME

We are home to stay!!! Well the kids and I are anyway. My Mother-in-law was truely wonderful to let us stay at her house for so long, but I think it was a bit too long. Even the kids are wanting to be home.

We've been staying in Utah while Eric is working for the summer. We are at home for a few days and it's really nice. Emily was so excited to see her toys! Tanner and Matthew are enjoying the computer, they haven't been able to play on it for a month and a half.
Well, I'm new at the blogging but I will do what I can. Mostly I want to be able to inform those who care about my kids! :-)
